I am. I started using The Net in 1992 while working for Curtin University when the Net was known as the Australian Academic Research Network or AARNet. That morphed into the Internet and a few years later Sir Tim Berners Lee invented the World Wide Web (www).

In 1995 I built the first website in the Kimberly while TAFE manager in the town of Bidyadanga at La Grange Bay Western Australia.

I started digital marketing in the late 1990s with a specialisation in SEO when Alta Vista, Lycos, Excite, Yahoo etc were the popular search engines, quite a few years before Google was invented. While living at 194 The Esplanade Scarborough, in 2000 I built the first Scarborough Beach website which because of 56kbs dial-up, slow modem speeds, the small low resolution images still exist today on this little changed (except for the year 2025) website. Are digital marketing issues seen as a problem or opportunity?

For me digital marketing issues are seen as an opportunity to fix the problem. Let’s face it. 99% of websites have a digital marketing issue. We use SEO analysis tools to rate the level of digital marketing issues of Perth sites, identify the issues and then get hired to problem-solve the issues. Common digital marketing issues I’ve seen in Perth include:

2. No or badly setup Google Business Profiles or profiles that the owner can’t edit because the PERSON who set it up was a long gone employee.
3. No or badly set up social media profiles or neglected social media marketing. Eg no or poorly set up YouTube channel with videos lacking a call to action such as a link in the video description.
4. Low quality and or not enough backlinks, or plenty of useless backlinks with “nofollow” attributes.
5. Paying too much for search engine marketing (SEM, not to be confused with SEO). Eg not using exact match phrases and not filtering useless leads.
